  1. Subject: New work-around for playing Caeser2 with no CD
  2.      This is tested and works with the DOS verion.

  5. After installing Caesar2, go to the installed directory
  6. and delete RESOURCE.CFG
  7.  
  8. Now copy the rest of the files from the PL8\ folder on
  9. the CD to the parent installed game directory so you
  10. will have all the maps for the game.

  12. If you want to, copy the rest of the wave and smacker
  13. animation files to the same directory to.

  16. Explanations:
  17. Resource.cfg stores the game path data and and
  18. allocates the memory heap for caesar2. However, there
  19. should never be an alloc error unless you have a very
  20. old computer with only a few magabytes and every byte
  21. counts. You can not simply edit the file, you must
  22. delete it entirely. Do not worry about the sound, your
  23. sound card settings are stored in other files.
